As of today, C.P. McDill has initiated a new project called Drone Wallah, and as the first official act of this project, five of his previous drone works have been re-attributed under this new name.

For the past few years, Webbed Hand has been closed to taking on new artists.
Today I opened the doors a little, because I’m hoping soon to showcase some talent hitherto unfamiliar to the WHR audience.
Initially my call is going out for a rather narrow stylistic range, because I’d like to bring on some artists who explored the moods that can be created with instruments such as piano or guitar.
Included on the policy page is how to submit work and in what format.
Lately most people who have contacted me have shown by their messages that they didn’t bother to read the submission policy before writing. When someone doesn’t take a moment to look at the policy, I don’t feel too bad about deleting the message without replying.
I will also continue deleting all requests to check out Myspace profiles. This needs saying, although I’m sure that no matter how many times I repeat it, I’ll still get those messages.

As you can probably tell, Webbed Hand’s catalog output has slowed recently. There are plans to get things up and running again as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we’ve created a Youtube channel to share newly-made videos of some classic tracks by label artists. Presently there are 11 videos, and as time permits I’ll be creating and adding more. If you’ve got a Youtube account, feel free to subscribe, add as friend, and give feedback.

BitTorrent users will be pleased to know that Webbed Hand releases are now available as torrent downloads. I have uploaded numerous collections of releases to Legaltorrents, and they are grouped by themes and/or styles. I’m working on compiling a few more collections to upload soon, so if you have a good experience with your initial downloads, check back for more:

Look! An all new Webbed Hand Records website. And it’s one you can RSS, so you’ll never miss a new release. And we endeavor to get more releases out soon.
I know it’s long overdue. But here it is, finally. The entire catalog is in blog post format, so you can search by artist, title, keyword, chronologically and even sometimes genre (thus far it’s pretty much limited to “ambient”). Also, the “about” and “submissions” pages have been significantly revised.
Credit and kudos go to Aria Nadii who not only lit a fire under me to get this done, but did the blog customizations and aesthetic design.
Some people recently asked me if I’d get a Paypal button up again, and so I’ve done that too. Your donations give critical support to this label, which is managing on a very meager budget.
2008 looks like it may be a good year for new releases, new collaborations, and maybe some more compilation albums. Fingers crossed!
