The agitated and distorted sounds which comprise the underlayer of this recording were generated from a heavily-effected contact mic capturing vibrations from steel strings. Spread over this is a shifting soundscape of drone ambient, drawing the listener between the tension of one and the release of the other.

“The Love Potion’s sound kind of came out of a family break up and a small depression. Hints the beauty and the chaos of the sound of the release.”

A selection of tracks recorded between 2009 and 2011 that were all more or less planned to be completed – but finally stayed in their first, raw state, with various flaws. This is TGBTS’ 2nd “posthumous” album.
As usual, using only guitars (often prepared, detuned, e-bowed…) and effects.

“One person project, creating experimental soundscapes with guitar sounds only : between raw guitar drones, dark ambient, ambient-noise, and no-wave / experimental rock.

About the album:
“For a long time, I’ve worked on this piece of music. I was not sure whether to release it or not, but now I think it’s time to release the first part of a trilogy. Divergence is the parting from everyone you’ve ever loved that was closing into your heart. So “We Breathe Differently” says so much about nearing and letting go. We breathe so differently, inhale the same, but exhale so heartless. The song is created for a second heart we’re all looking for and flows into the question “Is Anyone Still Here?” Here and there, looking around, hopeless and strange and falling into “Black Tar Hearts” crawling and motionless, drowning into a fiery magma of long lost hope, with the look of “All Things I Can Not Hold Near.” The things that ripped out of your hands and dive in “This Wailing Sea,” the sea we want to split like Moses, and at the same time, we want to walk on it like Jesus … nothing’s stranger than closeness … that’s the mind of “Divergence,” a piece of music that’s written and arranged by myself in the Proclambient Studios, in the desert of middle Germany …Thanxx” — the artist

“The Nikki Grace Experience — The Project was born in the year 2010. The Idea of the musical fusion rose from my novel Eta Carinae, existing since 2008. I try to put all dark and sinister images into musical landscapes and post-rockish and ambiental walls. I’m always inspired by journeys through my home, Germany, the Woods, the people, all strange things I see every day, and over there I’m inspired from other beautiful countries like Ireland, the northern countries, all this, with its breath of coldness but beautiful strangeness. I think Music must be a kind of Heart and Soul and the Heart of the Soul turns into Music.” — the artist

“Dance Like Branches” was a response to an artistic challenge by C.P. McDill for mystified to compose in an older style, and without using certain tools. All sounds were created by hand in the studio from instruments played by Thomas, with the exception of the vocal samples.

Ice Guild Kaiser is a recording project of C.P. McDill and is a sub-project of Saluki Regicide in ways that are difficult to define. Is it a variant personality, a mutation, a doppelganger, or an entirely new form of life? Still finding its way, perhaps we shall see it mature into its own person, though we are aware that the apple seldom falls far from the tree…

About:
“The title track, Axis Mundi, revolves literally around the idea of its namesake. The sound of a Jacobs Ladder creates the core central rhythm which is yet another incarnation of the theme. An attempt at representing both ascending, and descending, movement around the cosmic axis.

The second track, Strange Loop, is patterned after the ideas set forth in the book Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid around the concept of a “Strange Loop”. Specifically in relation to recursion, the fugue compositional technique, and Johann Sebastian Bach.” — the artist.

About the album:
“The Album ‘REST’ was recorded and mastered by myself in my own Proclambient (means Progressive-Classical-Ambient) Studio at my Home in Germany. It was a process about one year, I put all my ideas together, first on piano (that´s played by myself on a Midi keyboard). The speeches on “Broken Home” I took from a Creative Commons blog –it´s a preacher who’s talking and weeping about God and Jesus– together it´s my interpretation of a broken home that´s left and leaving. All strings I used were formed from synthesizer tunes into real strings by myself. The dialogue on “Playback rewind…” are recorded in Dutch speech one year ago by myself; it´s an old Woman which would not leave alone her old cassette player. Sad story I think, deep minded and terrible. “Easy Steps Moving Downward” is the newest one on this release. It´s my own favorite, a little bit jazzy I think. It´s a view to the next releases I´m working on. The drums are created by myself on a drum machine that I use for my computer, also Midi into real stuff. “Spaetrot” is a German word and means “the last Autumn light.” It was the hardest song to work on – the speeches are an old couple (on it you can hear one of them, together you can hear it on the second Part I´m working on) who are talking about their time as teachers in the past, a remembrance which sounds like a last autumn light I think. It was taken from Creative Commons blog called Freesound. So “Rest” is putting all the sad stories together. It´s a very personal song about my dead Father who died 26 Years ago, my inner peace to find him everywhere, sounds like a ghost story. It´s the deepest Song for me on this release. I´ve worked on it 6 Months and made it by myself, Which was important for me.” — the artist

The full release called ‘Rest’ is the first full length I´ll release. In two years I wrote tons of tracks and ‘scapes. I think ‘Rest’ is now ready to go out. It´s very experimental I think, all of The Nikki Grace Experience flows into ‘Rest’, from electronica spheres to rock parts. It´s not a concept album; every song stands alone and for itself and flow into ‘Rest’. I´m always inspired by journeys through my home, Germany, the Woods, the people, all strange things I see every day, and over there I´m inspired from other beautiful countries like Ireland, the northern countries, all this, with its breath of coldness but beautiful strangeness. Anilod is a duo consisting of iaiko and Raspee. In “Kinilam” they improvised on a variety of electronic and acoustic instruments.

iaiko has previously released the work “images” [wh182] on Webbed Hand. In this new work, “Kinilam” he has teamed up with Raspee. This 20-minute live session uses hums, strums, drones and tones from a variety of sources, electrical and otherwise. It begins with an intense display of feedback and distortion, then eases into a very subtle and minimalistic dialogue.
