“Surrounded by menacing trees. Each branch a threatening limb. A strong and ruthless wind blows with irksome ease. A forest filled with a shroud of desolate despair. Darkness interspersed with fragments of hazy fog, withered leaves and flowers bent all over from lack of shade and water.

Several nights elapse in unspeakable horror. Would it eventually collapse back onto itself? Icy chill of thought becomes a steely shimmer. The city was a distant smudge of light against a dreary landscape.”

“Revenge Of Plunderman” completes the trilogy which started with “Adventures Of Plunderman” and continued with “Return of Plunderman.”

Plunderman continues his quest for the perfectly eccentric loop with some ancient Moog melodies ripped from vinyl. Being somewhat twisted, he has transformed these vinyl loops into world-beat songs. “Revenge Of Plunderman” feels both retro and futuristic, hearkening to antique sounds and looking forward to an era of global unity.

J. Dujardin, who has previously released on Webbed Hand as Uitgezonderd, continues his sophisticated dark ambient/electronica oeuvre with “This will be the last.”

Dark, melancholic soundscapes by Dujardin are built with shimmering walls of effected guitar, piano and electronic instruments.

As Uitgezonderd he released Sterven Stil Leven [wh178] and Burning Giraffes at Sea [wh156]. The works of J. Dujardin & Uitgezonderd center on melancholy themes, with piano and guitar as prominent instruments in the sound.

This album includes a collection of illustrations to accompany each track.

Anilod is a duo consisting of iaiko and Raspee. In “Kinilam” they improvised on a variety of electronic and acoustic instruments.

iaiko has previously released the work “images” [wh182] on Webbed Hand. In this new work, “Kinilam” he has teamed up with Raspee. This 20-minute live session uses hums, strums, drones and tones from a variety of sources, electrical and otherwise. It begins with an intense display of feedback and distortion, then eases into a very subtle and minimalistic dialogue.

Following on the success of Mystified’s “Bone Drones” series comes a new collection of drone works, this time drawing its sounds entirely from a wooden overtone flute.

“In August of 2011, Thomas of mystified purchased an overtone flute from artist Steve Brand. The flute, when played, hits a single note on various octaves. It produces a nice, breathy tone. Thomas immediately became interested in using sounds from the flute to create acoustic drones. Each of the 5 pieces in Overtone Drones was made using only sounds from the overtone flute. Tracks one through four each used a single note blown on the flute. Track five contains sounds from one through four run through further effects and processes. Thomas hopes you will enjoy these drones, although no synthesizers were used in their creation.”

About this album:

“Between Worlds” was inspired by moments of detachment from everyday life, when the mind wanders and you co-exist in the physical and the imaginary. You can walk home or have a conversation but also feel slightly removed from the experience.

Created over a number of months late at night the album blends haunted guitar, warped keyboards and quirky samples to form what is possibly the strongest Planivaar album yet.

Artist Bio:

Planivaar began in 2005 as the musical explorations of visual artist Mark Lippett. He has so far had releases on Earth Monkey Productions, Split Femur Recordings, Make Mine Music and Lost Property Productions.

Mark creates his work in isolation making music that is simultaneously dark, unsettling, nostalgic and quirky.

The cryptically familiar Ice Guild Kaiser recently emerged from his workshop with this purpose-built addition to the popular “Rain” series.

This recording is a product of Ice Guild Kaiser’s research into Webbed Hand’s venerable “Rain” series, and it bears structural similarities to the earliest releases, while showing the influence of later mutations. He acknowledges that, at heart, “Rain” is functional music, a remote descendent of so-called elevator music, easy listening, new age and other genres composed for relaxation and unfocused audition.

Rain is a series of conceptual tracks produced for Webbed Hand Records. Each “Rain” is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for quiet listening while meditating, writing, or going to sleep. Typically the recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically rather than progressively, in order to induce relaxed states.

“Bone Drones 3″, the concluding part of the Bone Drone trilogy, is darker than the first part and less abrasive than the second. All 4 pieces were created from 3 notes played on a muted trombone, then processed and mixed. I tried to focus a little more on progressions and chord structures on this release. There’s lots of bass in these, so headphones or good speakers are the best option.”
