About the album:
“Sanefiftyfour (me) is an artist, network engineer, and ex-economist, living in the Kansas City metro area, with experimental music releases on various netlabels. I met Florida audiophile Liroso through a mutual friend, became intrigued with Liroso’s theories about sound, and sought a collaboration to realize some of these ideas in an old-fashioned space music project. The result occasionally veers into dark ambient territory but mostly reflects the optimism of its creators, delight and wonder at new discoveries of nature and technology, and nostalgia for earlier times, when fantasy and sci-fi fueled imaginations were soaring. At least we think so. When I talk to other musicians, I often hear something along the lines of “its all been done before”. I don’t think this is true at all. I think we have just scratched the surface of what is possible in music. In a sense, this is a sort of conservative project for us, but hopefully we have included some interesting harmonic ideas, and a slightly denser compositional approach than what one normally finds in the genre.”
