The second soothing dreamscape by Akashic Crow’s Nest employs ACN’s characteristic generative textures plus additional ambient samples to sculpt a smooth and restful atmosphere to lull the brainwaves into a relaxed state. The ACN sound is distinguished by the use of an image synthesizer (pictures are translated into sounds) to produce most of the auditory elements used in its compositions. Very peculiar but often remarkably musical and uncannily magical.

A 74-minute ambient track. The setting here comes across not as a fairytale forest, as in Rain 1 [wh028], rather more like an ancient abandoned city on the edge of a desert, as viewed in a grainy film. For some of more sensitive intuition, not empty at all but bustling with ghosts.

Here’s another Sci-Fi themed album by Akashic Crow’s Nest. This time, the concept centers on the experiences of a miner/prospector in a remote and hostile off-world mining colony. The sound: strong, droney ambient soundscapes, more intense that in The Void Captain’s Tale (wh015).

Do they have unfinished business, or messages for the living? Skidbladni is a second, shorter release by Akashic Crow’s Nest. The concept here is dream logic, temporal dislocation, and auditory hallucination. The music is constructed entirely from the output of an image synthesizer (which turns pictures into sounds), with effects added, but no other instruments or samples.

Purr is a 76 minute ambient track intended to be played at low volume as background ambience, preferably as you go to sleep. It generates a warm and cozy feeling, like having a cat purring next to your head.
